Jethro continues his attempts to emulate a 007 spy, much to Granny's displeasure. Meanwhile, Elly has been chosen as Queen of the Bankers Ball—a development that displeases Mr. Cushing, who had hoped one of his own contestants would claim the title. Seeing Jethro enjoying himself at Cushing’s bank, Jed is pressured to move his funds to the Merchant’s Bank. Sensing an advantage, Cushing then attempts to secure the coveted Clampett account.
