Mrs. Drysdale persuaded Jed to invest in the Beverly Hills Ballet Company, and Jed reasoned that ballet would be an ideal diversion for Granny, who was growing weary of the city’s less agreeable aspects—among other things. Just as Mrs. Drysdale secured the funds necessary to save the company, Jed managed to pique Granny's interest in the dance itself.
