Jethro expressed a desire to seek a courtship, so Jed took it upon himself to offer him some rudimentary instruction. Jethro found himself drawn to an entertainer named Chickadee Laverne and brought her back to the farm to meet his family. As was often the case, neither she nor the Clampetts seemed to grasp what the other was truly communicating.
