For Granny’s birthday, Jed arranged for the cabin to be opened up, much to Mrs. Drysdale’s displeasure. While the festivities were underway, a sociology student happened upon the Clampetts and, misunderstanding their situation entirely, assumed they were Mrs. Drysdale's household staff. Determined to free them from what she perceived as a life of servitude, she set about intervening.
