My grandmother grew weary of the television weather forecaster’s pronouncements of sunshine when rain was clearly on its way. She possessed a method for setting things right – her weather beetle, Cecil. Undeterred, she confronted the chief meteorologist at the U.S. Weather Bureau, but to no avail. Then Jed descended to speak with him, casually mentioning the name "Daisy," which led the man to believe he referred to Hurricane Daisy, and proceeded to describe a scheme for dealing with her.
