Granny says that both Jed and his dog, Duke, find themselves without a woman’s company. Then, a Frenchwoman, Mademoiselle Denise, arrives with her poodle, intending to breed it with Mrs. Drysdale’s dog. Immediately, Duke is captivated by the poodle, and Jed finds himself drawn to Denise. Unbeknownst to them, Mrs. Drysdale has orchestrated a “marriage” between her own dog, Claude, and Mademoiselle Denise's poodle, complete with a specially decorated bedroom.
