A wave of distaste washed over Lamont as he unfolded the traffic ticket, the charge for failing to yield on a right turn a bitter affront. He was certain he had acted with the utmost caution, and it was only through Fred's persistent persuasion that he agreed to contest the citation in court. Lamont had braced himself for a solitary defense, but as he entered the courtroom, he discovered Fred had taken it upon himself to become his advocate.
