Grady had reached his limit with the Ferguson family's constant squabbles. He confided his exasperation in Fred. Fred, ever quick to spot a chance for profit, immediately saw an opportunity. He urged Lamont to consider taking Grady on as a paying boarder. But Fred soon recognized the complications inherent in the proposition and now had the difficult task of delivering the news to his friend.
