Motion is not always as it seems. An object can appear still while actually in movement, and conversely, something at rest can give the impression of being in motion. It is all a matter of perspective – relative motion, specifically. The way we perceive movement hinges on our own state of motion, or that of any observer. Consider a scenario: seated on one bus, observing another as your own begins to reverse. You might perceive the second bus as advancing, when in reality, it remains stationary.
