Synopsis
Jed felt a pang of guilt that Granny should be left to clean the large house entirely on her own. He mentioned this to Mr. Drysdale, who assured him he would find a housekeeper so she could have some rest. Jed cautioned him that persuading Granny to relinquish her duties wouldn’t be easy. Mr. Drysdale, however, was confident he could succeed. He located a housekeeper at a low price, Mrs. Meek, and after considerable effort managed to convince Granny to give her a chance.
