Synopsis

The joyous family gathering for Alexander Reynolds’ sixtieth birthday dissolved into grim shock when he was discovered with a knife buried in his chest. Murdoch was summoned to the scene and quickly learned that the deceased had been widely loathed by his own family. The Reynolds clan immediately became the focus of suspicion, though the list of potential culprits dwindled sharply with the arrival of his daughter, Charlotte. She appeared clad in a blood-soaked dress and confessed to the murder.
