I agree entirely with MovieGuys’ assessment. My wife and I really enjoyed this series, and for quite some time—roughly up to seasons 12 or 13—it was a fantastic historical drama. The performances are excellent, and both the characters and the narrative were very engaging. But like many programs currently, it seems to have succumbed to an overload of agendas.
