Kevin encountered Winnie again, the first time since their separation. He learned that Winnie and Roger had also ended their relationship. When a car accident brought Winnie home, Kevin went to her house. Her parents, however, informed him that she did not wish to see him. He departed then, but later returned, scaling the wall to reach Winnie's bedroom window. Inside, they confessed their feelings, each speaking the words, "I love you."
