Synopsis

Three of Hester’s most promising students, along with their governess, have vanished. A determined sergeant now leads the search, local men combing the countryside for any trace of the missing. Could something otherworldly be responsible? Or has a more earthly crime been committed? Michael Fitzhubert, a young Englishman of noble birth, was the last to see the girls, and with the search called off, he feels compelled to return to the isolated estate, where he makes a startling discovery.
