Synopsis

At the close of the nineteenth century, Hester Appleyard, a woman shrouded in mystery and burdened by a hidden history, journeyed to Australia. She built a life in the new land, founding a thriving school for young women. But on Valentine's Day, 1900, six years later, the school's enigmatic headmistress granted her students a picnic at Hanging Rock. It was there, within the landscape’s peculiar and somber embrace, that something utterly unforeseen transpired.
