As the new year dawned, Renge found herself joining Kazuha, Hikage, and Kaede on a journey to a mountain peak, hoping to witness the first sunrise of the year. Kaede reminisced about the day five years prior when she was first entrusted with the care of the then-one-year-old Renge. Initially overwhelmed by the task, Kaede soon found herself growing fond of the spirited child. Reaching the summit, they watched together as the sun painted the horizon with its first light.
