Synopsis

As Antarctic winter descends, conditions become so severe that nearly all animal life withdraws from the region. A small number endure, however: emperor penguins, who gather closely against the fury of the storms, and Weddell seals, which diligently keep open channels through the ice to an underwater realm where fish thrive thanks to a natural antifreeze within their blood.
