The radio brought news to the castaways: Mary Ann’s sweetheart back in Kansas was about to marry someone else. Overhearing their hushed conversation, Mary Ann wrongly concluded that she had been poisoned by the mushrooms she'd gathered and possessed only moments remaining. This sparked a wonderfully absurd dream sequence, during which the Professor bore an uncanny resemblance—and spoke with the charm—of Cary Grant.
