Synopsis

Mike's journey began in Pennsylvania at a coal processing plant, where he learned the process of coke-making – the carbonized coal essential for iron production, which ultimately forged steel. From there, he traveled to Washington, finding work in an oyster shucking plant alongside a girl perpetually coated in grime. His final destination was Pasadena, California, where he spent his time dismantling floats from the Tournament of Roses Parade.
