It’s strange in all the wrong ways, but that’s part of what makes it amusing. This is definitely an improvement over the director's earlier work. While 'Rubber' was original, its brand of dark humor didn’t appeal to everyone—and certainly not to me—even though I recognized the attempt behind it.
