Synopsis

In the dry hills of Macedonia, an old village has long struggled with a severe lack of water. A man who lived in America returns home with a bold plan: to build a watermill that could solve their water problems. But his idea creates conflict with nearby villages over water rights, jeopardizing their communities. A disturbing flashback reveals a past massacre, reminding everyone that tragedy has happened before. This makes the pursuit of progress feel dangerous. The young man's efforts to build the watermill are undermined by the construction of a dam, which threatens to flood the village.
