The initial portion of this film is quite good, though it unfortunately declines once the creature appears. It remains an acceptable horror offering, certainly something you could recommend seeing, but not particularly remarkable. I thought the scenes set in the initial house were exceptionally crafted and truly frightening; I'd give it a rating of 3/5.

It’s hard to believe that a film with such a bland title and without any advertising could turn out to be this impressive. Seriously, how did _The_ fuckin' _Ritual_ get made, and why wasn’t anyone talking about it? I genuinely enjoyed it; my rating is ★★★½ – I definitely suggest checking it out.
