This film isn’t universally appealing, even with its comedic elements. However, Guillermo del Toro's signature talent for striking imagery, stylish action sequences, and attention to character growth sets Hellboy apart and keeps it engaging. Furthermore, Ron Perlman delivers an exceptional performance as the lead. His presence is captivating, suggesting he may be among the most overlooked performers working today.

I'm a big fan of Mike Mignola’s _Hellboy_ comics, and this film takes quite a significant departure from them. Surprisingly, it didn’t really bother me. In some instances, like with Karl Ruprecht Kroenen, the movie adaptation is even better than what’s on the page. We find ourselves watching _Hellboy_ often at our house. _Final rating:★★★★ - Very strong appeal. A personal favourite._
