This film brought to mind “Rosemary’s Baby,” particularly its unsettling atmosphere, while also incorporating some of the more disturbing aspects found in “The Thing.” I wasn't entirely shocked to discover that the director acknowledged "Rosemary’s Baby" as a significant influence, along with “The Spiral Staircase," given how much it resembled that earlier film for the initial portion.
