Synopsis

In 1964, following a devastating atomic war that has ravaged the northern hemisphere, a U.S. submarine finds refuge in Australia. Though life seems normal in this isolated location, a pervasive sadness lingers. Captain Towers, grieving the loss of his family in the war, finds connection with Moira Davidson, a woman carrying her own burdens. They develop a bond, offering each other comfort as they grapple with their shared grief and question the possibility of finding solace in one another. Their time together is fleeting, however, as the submarine must soon resume its mission with the end rapidly approaching. The film explores themes of love, loss, and hope against a backdrop of impending disaster, presenting an emotionally resonant story about the strength of the human spirit during unimaginable tragedy.
