Action movie filled with martial arts, what a way to spend the better part of two hours. Even with all the blood and gore, this did it for me. Add the humor injected with many familiar faces, what could possibly go wrong. If I had to say anything negative it would be that some of the fight scenes were unbelievable, but this is supposed to be fantasy so I looked past that. If action and martial arts are your genre, yo…

I previously gave the first MORTAL KOMBAT movie a tentative look, largely because of its action sequences. This follow-up does at last present the tournament that enthusiasts were hoping for, but achieving this comes with some drawbacks: a crowded storyline, a villain who doesn't get enough attention, and special effects that occasionally fall short of the quality visible elsewhere. Karl Urban really stands out as Jo…

This movie manages to be an enjoyable mix of fantasy, horror, and action, and it’s a noticeable step up from the 2021 original, especially when compared to something like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Karl Urban brings a likable energy to the role of Johnny Cage, and I thought the fight choreography was well done, as were the violent deaths. It didn't leave a lasting impression, but overall, I found it quite agreeable…

It's not without its imperfections, but this film provides entertainment. While previous attempts to adapt Mortal Kombat have been disappointing, this one manages to be more than just an okay nod to the video games; it functions as a genuine movie complete with a narrative structure, characters who develop, and a plot that progresses from start to finish. The actors are well-chosen, and Karl particularly shines. It’s…

While I enjoy the source material, I don’t believe the movies should depict such extreme brutality. Adding more violent scenes, in my opinion, would have made it flawless.

This is just awful. There's really nothing I can say to make this sound better than it is. The performers in the lead roles don’t seem to know anything about fighting, and the plot feels completely thrown together. On top of that, there are moments with a lot of blood and violence that don’t add anything meaningful. It’s best to skip this one.

Even after three decades, the 1995 Mortal Kombat remains the strongest entry in this series. Online discussions suggested that this film surpassed the 2021 remake, which it does to some degree, though it’s still pretty awful. I'm struggling to understand why the performances are so poor. The fight sequences also disappoint. Shao Kahn is just… something else! It's hard to buy him as a fearsome ruler; how d…

My initial impression from the trailer suggested Johnny Cage would be the main focus, likely taking advantage of Karl Urban’s popularity. Despite a predictable structure and some script issues that felt disconnected, it did acknowledge earlier installments—though not directly adapting the video game material. I thought they managed to give roughly equal attention to each character, even if most lacked substantial bac…

It’s difficult to watch; truly awful. While adapting a computer game storyline from the early nineties—one that’s been adapted numerous times before—certainly presents limitations, this film somehow manages to reach an undesirable point. Even a simplified and less complex portrayal of Butcher isn't enough to redeem it. Simply put, it doesn’t work.

The premise calls “Johnny Cage,” portrayed by Karl Urban, to duty—a performer past his prime who's pulled into a situation mirroring the opening of "Galaxy Quest," where actors find themselves aiding in averting universal catastrophe. He’s enlisted by “Lord Raiden” (Tadanobu Asano) to assist in safeguarding Earth from destruction alongside four other warriors with distinct abilities, tasked with confronting five sold…
