River Without Banks (2014) explores the intersection of poetry and war. Structured in ten segments based on the opening lines of the first ten stanzas of the poem "Death of a Stone Cell," the film follows the poet's life. It weaves together his correspondence with friends, shifting between his youth and adulthood to reveal a complete portrait of the protagonist. The camera accompanies Lofu on his journeys back to bomb shelters and tunnels in Kinmen, as well as his hometown in Hunan Province, China, alongside scenes of his daily life in Canada. Known as the "Wizard of Poetry," Lofu shares profound insights throughout the film.
