Death of the Virgin (2009)

Synopsis

In 1432, a remarkable vision of the Virgin Mary appeared in the quiet town of Caravaggio, inspiring the intense and unique paintings of Michelangelo Merisi, known as Caravaggio. In 2011, three women – Lisa, an art student; Claudia, an Italian translator; and May, a young woman preparing to become a nun – journey to Caravaggio. Their lives are disrupted when the apparition reappears, and May begins experiencing terrifying premonitions of brutal murders. As crimes mirroring Caravaggio's paintings occur, the women must uncover a hidden secret to confront the supernatural terror and a shocking fate.
