Synopsis

Based on Orla Loughlin's short story, *Portraits of Sari* follows Steven McNarma as he experiences newfound independence. Leaving his sheltered upbringing behind, Steve begins his studies at the prestigious Philadelphia Art Academy. There, he strives to achieve his artistic goals while navigating pressure and competition from fellow students, notably the intelligent and captivating Sari Phillips. Back home, Steven's mother, Cynthia, grapples with her first major separation from him. She attempts to encourage his ambition by guiding him toward the highly regarded art contest hosted by the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Through their interactions, Steve and Sari discover more about each other and develop together in this new environment. As the competition nears, a rivalry forms between Steve and Sari. Will Steve win, or will Sari claim the opportunity he desires?
