Synopsis

In 1970s Los Angeles, where pornography was a thriving business, Jack Horner, a driven pornographer with artistic goals, seeks to revolutionize the industry. He discovers Eddie Adams, a hopeful actor working as a busboy, and offers him a place on his creative team of misfits and idealists. Adams rapidly rises to fame using the adult film name "Dirk Diggler," experiencing seemingly endless success during a time of disco and excess. But as reality intrudes upon his fantasy world, Dirk faces the difficult truths hidden beneath the glamour of fame and wealth. Against a backdrop of shifting fashion and constant parties, Adams' attempt to elevate sex into art clashes with the harsh realities of life in this story about ambition, identity, and desire.
