It’s presented as a war film, although there's a very slight secondary storyline involving creatures. Considering it solely as a war movie, it manages to be quite decent; the production quality brings Blackhawk Down to mind. However, when viewed as a continuation of Monsters—a film I found entertaining—it falls far short. What I was hoping for in terms of a follow-up to Monsters simply didn't materialize.
