Taking home the Oscar for best motion picture was unexpected. While it's a decently made film, there’s not much to make it particularly engaging or well-constructed; the narrative doesn’t stand out and isn't really worth discussing, if anything. The performers are pretty good, though.

It’s difficult to find another way to put it, and I apologize for any errors in my phrasing, but *Argo* is just outstanding. You really need to see it to get what I mean. It definitely earns a spot among the films I consider exceptionally worthwhile.

It’s not deserving of consideration for the top awards, yet it manages to create some genuinely terrific tension. The runtime passes surprisingly quickly. Watching Alan Arkin perform is a real pleasure.
