I watched this film roughly two decades ago, and recently felt compelled to revisit it. It wasn’t particularly groundbreaking or elevated in its aims, and the rhythm felt uneven at times, but I generally found it absorbing with some strong acting. It makes me speculate on how much more impactful it might have been directed by a filmmaker like Scorsese. **3.5/5**
