For decades, Area 51, the desert military installation cloaked in secrecy, has been a magnet for speculation regarding Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAPs. Fueling a pop culture fascination, the base recently inspired a Facebook group to propose an incursion in pursuit of answers. Meanwhile, civilian UAP researchers continue to advance the search for those answers. In a first since 1969, Congress has questioned senior Pentagon officials about UAPs.
