Synopsis

To safeguard Stefan's soul, Damon strikes a bargain with Cade for the recovery of the Maxwell journal. Alaric and Matt steadfastly refuse to relinquish it, believing it holds the means to defeat Cade. Meanwhile, Caroline desperately seeks a connection with Stefan, hoping to reach him before Cade can enact his sinister design.
