A shadow of antiquity lingered over Mystic Falls as Stefan and Damon rallied to Elena's aid. In doing so, they unearthed unexpected truths about those who came before – about humans, vampires, and the echoes of long-forgotten events. Jeremy offered support to Bonnie after the strain of a demanding spell, while Caroline worked to ease the burdens on Tyler. And in the aftermath, Stefan and Damon finally arrived at a deeper understanding with one another.
