Synopsis

Isobel's return to town was a shock to Alaric, not only for her presence but for the imperious way she demanded a meeting with Elena. When mother and daughter were finally reunited, Isobel deflected most of Elena’s inquiries, yet hinted at a relentless pursuit of the enigmatic invention that had consumed Johnathan Gilbert. Her methods, however, proved perilous, drawing the intervention of Stefan, Damon, and Bonnie, who rallied to support Elena in navigating the unfolding crisis.
