Synopsis

Absent the moon, Earth would be a profoundly altered, desolate world. Days would measure only four hours of light, followed by unending nights. Relentless winds, sustained at a hundred miles per hour, would generate colossal hurricanes, enduring for months on end. Complex life, and certainly humanity, would be improbable. It is reasonable to suggest that our very existence is indebted to the moon’s presence. But what if it vanished without warning?
