He possessed an urgency, a need to anticipate the future, to be ahead of every trend. Yet, he understood that direction could not be found without first understanding origin. Leaving Oklahoma, Danny arrived in San Francisco a blank slate, receptive to the city’s myriad offerings. It was there he shaped his identity, both as a man and as a chef, and the humble Mission Street Food movement took root, blossoming into the success it is today.
