I was pleased with the earlier "Librarians" movies and the 2014 television show. However, this newest version just isn’t clicking for me. It seems like a concept that has already been explored extensively, and truthfully, it's been handled more effectively in other instances. The writing feels lackluster; it comes across as routine and hesitant to try anything new. It almost gives the impression of being crafted by legal professionals. Visually, things appear fine, but the overall feeling is bleak and uninteresting. I gave the first three episodes a chance, but I quickly lost interest. That’s not due to any shortcomings on the part of the performers; they're adequate, but everything else feels so wrong that their efforts don’t really register. Ultimately, it’s lifeless, tedious, cautious, predictable, and uninspired. I’ll go back to watching the older films and the 2014 series instead.
