The competition narrowed to eight dancers – four girls and four boys – vying for the title of America's favorite on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance?". For this round, partners and routines were drawn at random. Each couple would perform twice, alongside individual solos. With two hours to fill, guest judge Toni Basil, known for her work on "Mickey," joined returning panelists Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy. She used the opportunity to promote her current endeavors, including collaborations
