Fred awoke one morning to a scene suggesting a burglary, though the truth was far more subtle: a minor earthquake had shaken the house through the night. Grady delivered the unsettling news that a significant tremor was predicted for the sixth. Weary of the impending seismic activity, Fred resolved to sell the house and relocate.
