Synopsis

Elena’s marriage was unraveling; Pietro grew increasingly distant, and she felt reduced to the status of a servant in her own home. Then, one day, Nino Sarratore appeared at the Airota’s door. He and Pietro struck up a friendship, parting with a promise to meet again soon. Elena watched the encounter with a nervous anticipation, and with it, a spark reignited within her; she began to write once more.
