Synopsis

A doctor's visit reveals to Lois that she has contracted mononucleosis. Soon after, a surge of maternal instinct leads her to unknowingly pass the illness on to Malcolm. Consequently, Lois and Malcolm find themselves confined to a single room for an entire day and night. Meanwhile, Hal experiences an unexpected social reprieve, becoming the guest of honor at every gathering of his neighbors now that Lois will be absent.
