Mr. Montague resides at the Wilder boarding house during his time in Walnut Grove, where he is conducting research for a forthcoming book. Matthew Roger faces a difficult choice when his biological father unexpectedly appears. Ultimately, Matthew chooses to depart from Mr. Edwards and accompany his father. Feeling adrift, Mr. Edwards subsequently moves into the boarding house himself, seeking companionship.
