Synopsis

Invertebrates are not always solitary creatures. The development of true social organization was a late evolutionary adaptation, appearing relatively recently, even after the age of the Tyrannosaurus. The previous episode explored the underlying tensions within some of the most impressive social structures crafted by insects, and depicted the brutal conflict when ant and termite colonies clash in war.
