Synopsis

The small shop’s destruction was no accident; it was arson. Its owner had vanished, leaving no trace. Montalbano began his investigation, but his attention was also drawn to a series of unsettling incidents: reports of women being taken, only to be released hours later, unharmed and with their belongings undisturbed. The disappearances seemed utterly pointless, yet they consumed a significant portion of his time.
