To help Mary Anders escape the shadow of her past trauma—the scars and the fire—Jonathan and Mark secure her a position at a summer camp for the blind. It isn't long before one of the counselors, Frank Reilly, develops a particularly sharp suspicion about who she truly is. Later, as he finds himself falling in love with her, Mary Andrews resolves to reveal herself publicly, agreeing to pose for a tabloid magazine that will expose the extent of her burns.
