Synopsis

Carolyn, Derek’s mother, arrives unexpectedly in Seattle and encounters Meredith for the first time, a delicate situation complicated by Mark's efforts to keep his relationship with Lexie a secret. Elsewhere, William, an inmate awaiting execution, expresses a desire to donate his organs to Bailey and Arizona’s patient. And as Owen and Cristina navigate the tentative beginnings of a romance, they strive to make their first date a success.
