Synopsis

In a personal advertisement, Eb presented himself as a prosperous landowner. This initiated correspondence with a woman residing on Park Avenue, and spurred him to embellish his claims further. By the time she planned her visit, Eb was portraying the Douglases as tenant farmers working under his direction.
